Granalu Sustainability
1. SOCIAL COMMITMENT
At Granalu, we understand Social Commitment as an essential part of our identity and our values.
More than a requirement, we see it as a genuine expression of our commitment to society.
We actively participate in various social initiatives, carefully selecting projects that align with our vision and principles.
2. ENVIRONMENT
At Granalu, we understand that the environment is the fundamental pillar that sustains life and the development of our society.
Taking care of it not only means preserving our surroundings, but also protecting our collective wellbeing and that of future generations.
This commitment is especially meaningful to us, as our location in the heart of nature connects us directly with its richness and beauty.
For this reason, we take responsibility for caring for our environment, integrating sustainable practices into everything we do.
3. ECONOMIC SUSTAINABILITY
At Granalu, economic sustainability is a key pillar of our business strategy. We believe in a model that balances profitable growth with a positive impact on society and the environment. We are committed to innovation in our processes and products, offering efficient and long-lasting solutions that optimise our customers’ resources. By promoting a circular economy and encouraging responsible practices throughout our entire value chain, we not only generate value for our partners and employees, but also contribute to the sustainable economic development of the communities in which we operate.
1. CSR. ESG criteria
At Granalu, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a natural extension of our identity and a reflection of who we are.
We do not see it as a mere requirement, but as a genuine expression of our core values and our DNA. We are involved in a wide range of CSR initiatives (following ESG criteria), carefully selecting projects that resonate with our vision and principles. These actions not only demonstrate our commitment to social and environmental wellbeing, but also allow us to make a meaningful contribution to the communities and environments in which we operate.
The 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) occupy a central place in our corporate strategy. Sustainability has been a priority for Granalu long before it became a global issue, reflecting our deep concern for the natural and social ecosystem that surrounds us. This commitment is reflected in the way we approach and develop every aspect of our activity, from production through to management, ensuring that our operations are sustainable and beneficial for everyone.
SDGs
(Sustainable Development Goals)
The Sustainable Development Goals are 17 interconnected global goals, established by the United Nations in 2015, designed to serve as “a blueprint for achieving a better and more sustainable future for all”. Among them are: No poverty, Quality education, Gender equality, Affordable and clean energy, Sustainable communities, Partnerships to achieve the goals, etc.
2. ENVIRONMENT
Our surroundings, located in a rural area of immense natural richness and inhabited by people dedicated to hard work, effort and continuous improvement, inspire us on a daily basis. At Granalu, we recognise the importance of this environment and strive to implement initiatives that promote its preservation and improvement. These actions not only have a local impact, but also reflect our concern for global wellbeing and the future of the planet.
At Granalu, we are committed to responsible management of resources and the environment, controlling key aspects such as water, emissions, noise, discharges, energy and land, among others.
From the outset, Granalu has adopted manufacturing processes that optimise the work and minimise energy consumption, contributing to the construction of resilient infrastructure and promoting sustainable industrialisation. Both our manufacturing processes and the design of our products are meticulously planned to be efficient and respectful of the environment and of people. At Granalu, we understand that sustainability is not just a business objective, but a shared responsibility that guides each and every one of our actions.
In line with our commitment to sustainability, Granalu has calculated its carbon footprint, allowing us to identify and optimise areas for improvement. Thanks to these initiatives, we have succeeded in reducing our carbon footprint by 30% over the past year. This progress has been made possible through the optimisation of manufacturing processes, the use of renewable energy, the implementation of energy-saving corporate policies, and a strong commitment to recycling and the circular economy. In addition, our vehicles are designed with innovative aerodynamics that reduce the fuel consumption of tractor units, contributing to more efficient and sustainable mobility.
3. ECONOMIC SUSTAINABILITY
At Granalu, we understand economic sustainability as an essential pillar for ensuring a prosperous and balanced future. Our business model seeks to combine profitable growth with a positive impact on society and the environment, firmly committing to innovation in each of our processes and products. We design efficient and durable solutions that not only optimise our clients’ resources, but also promote smarter use of materials and energy.
The circular economy lies at the heart of our philosophy: extending the useful life of products and materials is key to maximising their value. We strive to ensure that, from manufacturing through to end of life, energy balance and material consumption are optimal. This approach allows us to reduce our environmental impact, extend the useful life of semi-trailers, and minimise waste.
By implementing responsible practices throughout our entire value chain and promoting a sustainable approach, we not only generate value for our partners, clients and employees, but also contribute to the economic development of the communities in which we operate.
Some of our SDGs
#SDG1 No Poverty + #SDG2 Zero Hunger
“At Granalu, we wanted to do our bit to help those affected by the war in Ukraine by sending a semi-trailer loaded with humanitarian aid to Poland. Clothing, food, toys and more were distributed among Ukrainian refugees in Poland. It is impossible to put into words the feeling of gratitude towards the companies and individuals from the El Carracillo region and from Castilla y León, and the emotion we felt when we personally delivered the aid.”

We firmly believe that education is fundamental to the growth of businesses and of the planet as a whole, highlighting the importance of ensuring that children everywhere can benefit from high-quality education. We feel deep affection and gratitude towards UNICEF for its outstanding work on behalf of children and for giving us the opportunity to contribute, even in a modest way, to this noble cause.”
